In 2012, PointOfView were appointed as lighting designers to re-light the Sydney Town Hall, to bring the heritage listed building’s architecture and stonework back to life after dark.
Working to PointOfView’s brief to light the main vertical elements, a custom designed fixture was developed that:
- allows RGB colour change
- outputs 2700K white
- has a small footprint leaving minimal impact on the exterior sandstone
The fixture incorporated both white and RGB lighting in a single compact unit.
Completed in 2015, the project required 200 of the fixtures, which use a small lens with a Specular Reflector for light distribution with low glare and are controlled by DMX.
